Within the MultiAPPRO project, one of the tasks is promoting intermodality, getting acquainted with the topic and using the gained knowledge in further promotion of this means of transport through participation and implementation of similar projects and tasks.

In line with the mentioned goals, „Port of Bar“ has engaged a traffic expert, Ph. D. Sanja Bojić from the University of Novi Sad, to hold a short workshop for employees of „Port of Bar“ on the topic on intermodality.

After the introductory part concerning the general review of the concept of intermodality and the basis of intermodal traffic, during the presentation Ph. D. Bojić pointed out the importance of transport networks for both Serbia and Montenegro, referring to TEN-T network and the so-called Corridor XI, which is not on the EU list of corridors, but represents a kind of extension of TEN-T (indicative extension).

The mentioned was followed by defining the types of goods, means of transport and comparing means of transport by capacity, energy consumption, environmental impact and time of transport, and then defining and analyzing technologies of land transport, land – water transport, water transport and land – air transport.

In the end, Professor Bojić presented the statistics of intermodal transport in Serbia according to providers of logistics services, gave a detailed overview of intermodal terminals that are located in Serbia and general statistics related to handling of goods.
